2014 Taiwan LPGA Tour Ching Yeh Paint Ladies Open (2015 QT) Tournament Preview
Date:2014-12-02

The 2015 Taiwan LPGA Tour will come to an end this week at the Ching Yeh Paint Ladies Open. A stellar field of 100 international golfers from six countries, including Lee Min (李旻) and Hsu Wei-Ling (徐薇凌), who both ended their Symetra Tour season in the top 10 in the Money List and earned the 2015 LPGA Tour cards, will be competing for a total prize of NT$3 million over the three-round, 54-hole event.

At the conclusion of the TLPGA season that celebrated its first year joining the WWGR (Women’s World Golf Rankings) system along with other member tours such as the LPGA Tour, LET, and JLPGA Tour, the Qualifying Test (Q-School) for the 2015 TLPGA Tour cards will take place concurrently at the Tao Yuan Golf & Country Club. The result of the 60 entries will determine the playing priority for the 2015 season.  The setting is also for TLPGA Pro-Test. The applicants need to stay lower than 12-over par on Friday after 54 holes as well as to attain a passing score of 70 on a written examination to gain membership of TLPGA.

Ching Yeh Paint joins this week as a new title sponsor as 2014 marks the 40th anniversary of the Taiwanese brand. “We’re honored to be joining the TLPGA in setting up a more reliable golf environment which can give most Taiwanese players the substantial financial support and more world ranking points at the same time,” said Ching Yeh Paint president Lin Yeh-Hsing (林業興).

Top Taiwanese amateur, 17-year-old Cheng Ssu-Chia (程思嘉), who beat her seniors and won her debut LET tournament a fortnight ago at the inaugural Xiamen Open, will also be headlining the list and vie for her fourth career title already, alongside other TLPGA Tour titlists including Chen Meng-Chu (陳孟竺), Hsieh Yu-Ling (謝瑀玲), Shih Huei-Ju (石惠如), and Chien Pei-Yun (錢珮芸).

Other notable names include Lin Tzu-Chi (林子麒), Kuo Ai-Chen (郭艾榛), Chen Szu-Han (陳思涵), and Yu Pei-Lin (余珮琳).

There will be a cut after 36 holes and only the top 50 and ties can advance to the final Friday to still stand a chance for the NT$600,000 first-place prize.
