2022 Taiwan LPGA Tour | Party Golfers Ladies Open 16 – 18 Nov Tournament Preview
Date:2022-11-15

The TLPGA Tour travels to Hsinchu’s Lily Golf Club this week in the busy November, with the Party Golfers Ladies Open set to get underway tomorrow. The prize money of the 54-hole event has been increased to NT$3.5 million. The winner emerging from an international 73-player field will take away NT$630,000.

The tournament, in its eighth year, is title-sponsored by The Party Golfers, an amateur golf team comprised of local entrepreneurs who share a strong passion for the golf sport. They’ve been lending their sponsorship supports since 2014, when the first Party Golfers Open was staged and the first year the TLPGA Tour was recognized by the WWGR (World Women’s Golf Rankings).

“We pay our respect to STUDIO A, Lian Hwa Foods, Power Quotient International, and CPC Corporation for helping the Party Golfers in making this event an even bigger one, in support for our athletes and the entire golf community,” said Party Golfers leader Hsiao W-J.. “We’ve increased the prize from NT$3 million to NT$3.5 million this year, also to celebrate the 20th year since the Party Golfers established.”

73 professionals will be jostling through 54 holes, alongside 28 amateurs. The international field, which includes 19 from Thailand, 1 from Japan, and 1 from New Zealand, will be headlined by Lee Hsin (李欣), current TLPGA Tour no.2 on the Money List. Lee has showed tremendous improvement on the TLPGA Tour in 2022, claiming two victories already at the WPG Ladies Open and Jing-Mao Ladies Open. Last week’s SAMPO Ladies Open winner, Tseng Tsai-Ching (曾彩晴) is also teeing up on Wednesday; however, the professional rookie is playing this week in the TLPGA member test category and won’t be included on the official leaderboard.

The backdrop this week is the Lily Golf & Country Club, which hosted the TLPGA Tour players at the YICHEN Heritage Tour in April. By introducing solar panels in its parking lot and a new rain recycling system to recapture water and energy as maintenance resources for the course, Lily Golf Club takes pride in contributing to ESG initiatives to preserve the golf environments.

The players tested the course one last time in today’s Pro-Am. Wu Hsiao-Ling (吳曉玲) led her three teammates in the Pro-Am event with a winning score of 59.

Wu Chia-Yen (吳佳晏), who repeated her winning run in 2018 with a dominant 12-stroke victory last year, will be absent, unfortunately, as she is competing now on the Japan LPGA Tour’s qualifying circuit.

The Party Golfers has been an official partner with the TLPGA since the year of 2014:

2014 - First Party Golfers TLPGA Open was held. Thai player Kanphanitnan Muangkhumsakul became the first champion.
2015 - Lu Ya-Huei (呂雅惠) emerged victorious at the second Party Golfers TLPGA Open.
2016- Chen I-Wen (陳依妏) won the third edition of the Party Golfers TLPGA Open.
2017 - The Party Golfers co-organized the qualification event of the Swinging Skirts LPGA Taiwan Championship.
2018 - The Party Golfers Ladies Open returned to the schedule, co-sanctioned by the Ladies Philippine Golf Tour. The winner was Wu Chia-Yen.
2019 - Co-sanctioned by the Ladies Philippine Golf Tour, the Party Golfers Ladies Open was won by Hsieh Yu-Ling (謝瑀玲)
2020 – Lee Min (李旻) became the sixth winner of the Party Golfers Ladies Open at the Sunrise Golf Club.
2021 – Wu Chia-Yen won for the second time on the Lily course.

First round action of the 2022 Party Golfers Ladies Open begins at 6:40 tomorrow morning from the first and tenth tees.
