2023 Taiwan LPGA Tour | Party Golfers Ladies Open 8 – 10 Nov Tournament Preview
Date:2023-11-07

Lily Golf Club in Hsinchu, Taiwan, will play host to 102 players this week at the Party Golfers Ladies Open, which is now a co-sanctioned event by the Ladies Philippine Golf Tour (LPGT) and the Taiwan LPGA Tour.

The prize money of the 54-hole event has been increased to NT$4 million this year. The winner emerging from the competitive field will take away NT$720,000.

The lineup is headlined by some of the best talents from the Philippines, which include top-20 LPGT Order of Merit players Daniella Uy, Harmie Constantino, Florence Yvon Bisera, and Pauline del Rosario. TLPGA Tour’s top-10s featuring Chang Ya-Chun (張雅淳), Tseng Tsai-Ching (曾彩晴), Shih Chwng-Hsuan (石澄璇), Juliana Hung (洪玉霖), Wang Li-Ning (王莉甯), Huang Ching (黃靖), and An Ho-Yu (安禾佑) are also hoping to secure the victory at home.

19-year-old Liu Peng-Shan (劉芃姍) vows to relive her winning moments from last year, where needed a late 17th hole birdie to fend off the challenges from Shih Cheng-Hsuan and ultimately won by one shot.

Babe Liu (劉嬿), who recently won herself a JLPGA Tour membership for 2024, looks to take a second victory this season on Friday.

Three-time champion on the 2023 TLPGA Tour, P.K. Kongkraphan will lead a strong contingent from Thailand to make their marks. In fact, it was from Thailand we had the very first winner of the Party Golfers Ladies Open, when Kanphanitnan Muangkhumsakul wrote her name into the history books in 2014.

The Party Golfers, an amateur golf team comprised of local entrepreneurs who share a never-fading passion for the golf sport, has been lending their sponsorship supports since 2014, when the first Party Golfers Open was staged, helping the TLPGA Tour to finally make its stride to be accepted into the WWGR (World Women’s Golf Rankings) system at the end of that year.

The tournament, in its ninth year, had a one-year break in 2017 when members of the Party Golfers were occupied as a supporting role in the qualification event of the Swinging Skirts LPGA Taiwan Championship. However, with Party Golfers’ Chief Executive Ms. Lin L.C. endeavoring to prosper the women’s golf community continually, the Party Golfers Open was soon brought back on Tour in 2018, with an even higher status as the Women′s Golf Association of the Philippines joined forces. The event now boasts its biggest-ever purse in 2023 with NT$4 million.

The 2023 Party Golfers Ladies Open is co-sponsored by STUDIO A, Lian Hwa Foods, Power Quotient International, and CPC Corporation.

For the third year in a row, the backdrop for the event will be the Lily Golf & Country Club. By introducing solar panels in its parking lot and a functional rain recycling system to recapture water and energy as maintenance resources for its facilities, Lily Golf Club takes pride in contributing to ESG initiatives to preserve the golf environments. For every birdie made in the next three days, one tree will be planted on the 17th hole of the Lily’s course to help offset the tournament’s carbon footprint.

Set at 6,211 yards long, the layout doesn’t play overly long but still demands well placed shots to salvage a good score.
