2017 ICTSI Champion Tour Ladies golf first stage today (Mar.9) playing second round at Splendido Taal Golf Club in South Philippines, Titiya PLUCKSATAPORN from Thailand made the lowest score of the day 71 under the strong wind and jump out as leader. Piccio Mia and Cyna RODRIGUEZ from Philippines played 75 and 72 repectively total 145, 2 shots behind Titiya and shared the 2nd place.

Taiwan player Hsin LEE made 72, amateur Jo-Hua HUNG made 73 and Hsin-Ning YEH made 75, they all shared the 4th with Thai player Kanphanitnan MUANGKHUMSAKUL by 146, still got big chances to aim for the crown.

Another Taiwan amateur Yu-Chiang HOU made 72 total 147, tied at 8th.

The committee determined the cut line at 14-over-par total 158, 17 out of 22 Taiwan player had made cut, including 5 amateurs.

Hsin LEE with best score 72 among Taiwan players had a rough start with her iron, even though she still saved the Pars by great short games. Only the last hole, the ball went in bunker and result in bogey. 3 birdies were made by 2-foot and 5-foot putts, but also miss calculate the distance at hole 16 and 18 which ended up 2 bogeys, total 35 from last 9 holes.

Lee said her tee shots by driver weren’t well, but saved herself by short games. Last 9 holes short games were normal, although total 26 putts today, she still not satisfied with her performance today.

Her settings for last round is to made good control of the woods, don’t hit too hard on the irons, keep up the accuracy with the short games. Hopefully she could fill up the gap of 3 strokes behind the leader group.

Amateur Jo-Hua HUNG with two days stable 73, shot 1 eagle and 3 bogeys. She thought her irons were great but putter was awful, missed 6 birdie chances within 15-foot. The eagle made from 6-foot putt on the green.

Three bogeys were 3 putts at hole 8, spend extra strokes in the woods at hole 9 and chipping miss at hole 18. Total 34 putts today was not her normal performance, under strong wind and dry condition made the green faster. She indicated tomorrow would more focus on every shot, stay calm and enjoy the game.

Hsin-Ning YEH with best performance among all Taiwan players for the first day, did not have stable tee shots due to the strong wind. The ball went in hole 1,4,9 bunkers and saved with extra shots. She also missed 6 to 7-foot putts and result in 3 bogeys.

YEH had another bogey while missed the par putt from 3-foot, until hole 15 that she made a birdie from 4-foot. She said her putts weren’t accurate enough is the biggest problem today, she also missed 4 birdie chances within 6-foot.

She will ease her tense and keep up to her pace tomorrow, though the wind still strong, she hopes to move forward on her ranking.

Yu-Chiang HOU tied at 8th shot 3 birdies today, thanks to her accurate irons and putter. Unfortunately, she spent them all in the last 9 holes, most mistake during short games. But 29 putts today still reached her expectation, all the tee shots dropped to her ideal spots and putts are smooth, too.

This tournament co-organized by TLPGA and LPGT (Ladies Philippine Golf Tour), it’s 2017 TLPGA Tour second event and LPGT opening event.

Total prize money US$75000, winner will be awarded US$15,000 and runner-up awarded US$7500.

Final round will tee-off from hole 1 and 10, first group tee-off time 7am, last group 08:35am. The game estimated to end at 1:00pm.
