2019 Taiwan LPGA Tour | Party Golfers Ladies Open 2– 4 Oct Tournament Preview
Date:2019-10-01

The Party Golfers Ladies Open, featuring a prize purse of $100,000, will be held at the National Garden Golf and Country Club from Oct 2-4.

A few records to keep an eye on include Wu Chia-Yen’s (吳佳晏) title defense, who conquered the 2018 event at just 14, as well as Lin Tzu-Chi’s (林子麒) “three-peat”; Lin has swept away the last two tournaments on the TLPGA Tour at the Nan Yi Professional Ladies and the KENDA Tire TLPGA Open.

The power-packed 2019 field consists of 102 players from Thailand, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Korea, the Philippines, Indonesia, New Zealand, and hosting nation Taiwan. A cut will be made to the low 50 and ties after 36 holes. The winner will take home $18,000.

The jointly sanctioned tournament with the Ladies Philippine Golf Tour (LPGT) welcomes five elite representatives from the Philippines, including TLPGA Tour champion Pauline del Rosario.

Chonlada Chayanun, current TLPGA Tour no.8 (no.7 on the China LPGA Tour order of merit), spearheads Thai’s title drive in the 54-hole championship. She will be joined by Arpichaya Yubol, back-to-back winner on the LPGT this spring, and Renuka Susukont, who notched one victory this year on the China Tour.

Host Taiwan will boast twelve of the top 15 on the 2019 Money List. 2018 winner Wu Chia-Yen, 2016 winner Chen I-Wen (陳依妏) will seek to repeat their success at the Party Golfers.

Fresh off a victory, Lin Tzu-Chi, who overcame Chang Ching-Ling (張靖翎) in the play-off at the KENDA Tire TLPGA Open last week, is riding top form – she is actually on a two-victory streak, winning the Nan Yi Professional Ladies Open as well in early September. Hanna Chen (陳子涵), who finished third at the KENDA event, is also on the list.

Other local aces include Chen Hsuan (陳萱), Lee Hsin (李欣), Hsieh Yu-Ling (謝瑀玲),Chen Szu-Han (陳思涵), Lee Chia-Pei (李佳霈), and Huang Ching (黃靖).

Title sponsor, the Party Golfers, is an amateur golf team comprised of local entrepreneurs, who share a strong passion for the golf sport as they lent their support and gave rise to the first Party Golfers TLPGA Open in 2014.

Located on the Huoyan Mountain, the National Garden Golf Club provides golfers with breathtaking views of the Taiwan Strait and allows them to appreciate its collection of sculpture pieces by renowned Chinese artist Yang Yingfeng which can be seen around the fairways and at the club’s entrance and vestibule.

The competition layout is set at 6,248 yards long.

The traditional pro-am event originally scheduled today was cancelled due to the effect of a leaving typhoon. Official first-round action of the 2019 Party Golfers Ladies Open is set to begin at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning.
