The Taiwan Mobile Ladies Open, 2025 TLPGA Tour season finale, is set to tee off this week at the Taifong Golf & Country Club. This 9th annual edition marks a significant milestone as the total prize purse has been boosted from NT$8 million to NT$10 million. It also marks the historic return of collaboration between the TLPGA Tour and the KLPGA Tour. The 2025 Taiwan Mobile Ladies Open is now a KPLGA Tour co-sanctioned event.
The 108-player international field features 48 elite competitors from the KLPGA Tour, recognized as one of the world’s top four tours alongside the LPGA, JLPGA, and LET (Ladies European Tour). Hwang Ahreum, a five-time JLPGA winner who has recorded three career holes-in-ones, looks to add to her tally at a tournament famous for producing aces. Other notable Korean stars include Park Sohye and fan favorite You Hyoju.
Two-time champion Hsu Wei-Ling (徐薇淩), fresh off a third-place finish at the International Crown with the World Team, leads the local charge alongside former World No.1 Yani Tseng (曾雅妮).
Hsu has enjoyed a remarkably steady season on the LPGA Tour, securing three top-10 finishes, including standout performances at two majors, the AIG Women’s Open (T6) and the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship (T10). And now she has secured her LPGA full card for 2026 for a twelfth consecutive year.
Meanwhile, Yani Tseng remains a spotlight player after her emotional return-to-glory victory at the Wistron Ladies Open earlier this year, her first win in eleven years. After taking time to recover from a back injury, she aims to end her season on a high note this week.
Joining Hsu Wei-Ling in the field are fellow former champions Lee Min (李旻) (2018), Lin Tzu-Chi (林子麒) (2019), and Juliana Hung (洪玉霖) (2023).
Lee Min, whose 2018 title run was decorated with a hole-in-one performance, returns to Taifong seeking her second trophy of the year following her victory at the WPG Ladies Open.
Juliana Hung has spent much of her season competing on LPGA’s Epson Tour. She achieved a season-best third-place finish at the Central Florida Championship. Hung Jo-Hua is also an Epson Tour campaigner. After a hot start to the season with back-to-back TLPGA top-10s, the Team Towan Mobile player has struggled to maintain that momentum and is determined to bounce back at the home event.
This year’s tournament has set a new benchmark. With 68 international players from Korea, Thailand, Japan, and the U.S. in the field, the event has officially broken its own record for global participation number. The social impact of the tournament is also surging, with sponsorship growing by nearly 60%, reflecting the expanding support for women’s golf in Taiwan.
"We are deeply thankful to Taiwan Mobile for their unwavering commitment over the past nine years. By hosting this season finale, they’ve given Taiwanese players a world-class platform to compete with international stars, while significantly elevating the global status of the TLPGA Tour," TLPGA Chairwoman Liu Yi-Chen shared her gratitude.
KLPGA Tour Vice President Kim Mi-Hye also expressed her excitement about the partnership. "It is a true honor for the KLPGA to co-sanction the Taiwan Mobile Ladies Open. The TLPGA Tour has seen explosive growth in recent years, nurturing champions like Yani Tseng and Hsu Wei-Ling. We look forward to even closer cooperation in the years to come."
"At Taiwan Mobile, we’ve always focused on the sustainable development of sports in Taiwan. Over the last nine years, we’ve invested nearly NT$50 million in prize money and welcomed almost 900 entries from top local and international golfers,” Taiwan Mobile Chairman Daniel Tsai said. “Our goal is to continue to support and provide athletes with the opportunity to grow, climb the world rankings, and increase our international visibility." |
