Amateur talent Ku Min-Chun (古旻錞) capitalized on her home-course advantage at the Suncity Golf Club, carding a second-round 70 with three birdies against a lone bogey. Sitting at 5-under 139 through 36 holes, she is the sole leader moving into Friday’s final round at the YTS & SUNCITY Futures, a three-round, NT$1.2-million TLPGA Tour Futures-level event. However, a group of four players, Taiwan’s Chang Wenny Ching-Ling (張靖翎), Chen Ling-Jie (陳伶潔), Yu Han-Hsuan (俞涵軒), and Japan’s Harumi Yoshikuwa, are chasing tightly behind at just one stroke back.

First-round leader Yang Ya-Pin (楊亞賓) fell into solo ninth at 143 after carding 4-over 76.

“The wind really picked up today, on the back nine especially. I believe I only reached two greens coming in,” Ku said. “My iron control was certainly not as efficient as yesterday. Fortunately, I was able to minimize the damage with some great saves.”

On the par-5 18th, Ku’s third shot flew way over the green, but she pulled off a clutch up-and-down to save a crucial par which kept her solo lead. “I hope I can adjust better to the wind tomorrow and keep the shots close to the pin,” she added.

After firing six birdies in her opening round, Harumi Yoshikuwa had a quieter day on the greens, mixing three birdies with three bogeys for an even-par 72, trailing Ku by one shot at 140.

“It was windier today, which had me constantly second-guess my club choice. I just couldn’t hit my spots on the greens, so it was pretty tough to get the birdies going,” Yoshikuwa said. “I was really happy, though, to finally lock in over those last three holes and pull off two late birdies. Getting back to even par after a tough day gives me a lot more confidence going into tomorrow.”

Chang Wenny Ching-Ling rose from equal sixth into a tie for second thanks to a sharp short game. She rolled in three birdies against one bogey for a second consecutive 70. “My chipping was great. Saved some important pars for me,” Chang said. “Even though the score was 70 again, today felt much easier. I tidied up my game and stayed out of too many sticky conditions. Hopefully tomorrow I can find more greens and give myself better scoring opportunities.”

Chen Ling-Jie matched Chang’s pace throughout the first days, sitting right beside her at 140 also with 70 and 70. Despite suffering damages by the sand traps on the 5th and 15th, Chen maintained a calm consistency overall, hitting 15 greens in regulation, which kept her well in contention. Also trailing by just one shot is Yu Han-Hsuan, who relied on her solid fade off the tee to keep her fairway rate high.

“I tried not to overplay. My strategy was all about risk management and hitting my targets, which really paid off in these windy conditions. I think I brought a good game plan in and executed pretty well, too,” Yu said, who carded three birdies and two bogeys for a Thursday 71.

85 TLPGA Tour professional and amateur golfers will now head into Friday’s finale for a chance to take away the NT$210,000 champion paycheck.

This marks the tenth staging of the YTS & SUNCITY event on the TLPGA Tour, and its second year as a 54-hole Futures tournament. The top two finishers this week who could not directly made the cut for the 2026 KENDA Tire TLPGA Open field will earn their wildcard exemptions.
