The 2026 Wistron Ladies Open, co-sanctioned by the TLPGA and the Ladies European Tour (LET), is set to make its third appearance from October 29 to November 1 at the historic Sunrise Golf & Country Club in Taoyuan, Taiwan. 

Boasting a US$1.2-million purse, the highest-paying event on the TLPGA Tour is title-sponsored by Wistron—a global ICT (Information and Communications Technology) service provider and a cornerstone partner of the TLPGA since 2006.

Since Wistron first stepped up to sponsor the event and bring it onto the TLPGA Tour in 2020, this tournament has consistently scaled new heights.

In 2020, when professional sports worldwide were heavily disrupted by the pandemic, the inaugural Wistron Ladies Open debuted with a purse of NT$6 million to provide players with vital competitive opportunities. Since then, Wistron has steadily raised the stakes year after year, growing the purse to NT$10 million in 2021, US$500,000 in 2022, US$800,000 in 2023, and US$1 million in 2024, before reaching this year’s landmark US$1.2 million.

This exponential growth, with the tournament offering the most lucrative world ranking points on the TLPGA Tour, has attracted top-tier global stars over the years, especially since it achieved co-sanctioned status with LET in 2024. 2024 champion Chiara Tamburlini, along with England’s Lottie Woad—who made her debut last year and has since soared to world No. 4—are both set to return to Taiwan. They are expected to be joined by last year’s runner-up Amelia Garvey of New Zealand and third-place finisher Lauren Walsh of Ireland.

Local golf fans sure still remember Yani Tseng’s (曾雅妮) emotional victory last year, where she captured her 28th career title after a 4,291-day drought. Huang Ching (黃靖), who also secured a strong fourth-place finish last year is also back in the field, looking to make another serious run at the title.

The 2026 Wistron Ladies Open returns once again to Sunrise Golf & Country Club, the legendary venue that hosted the Sunrise LPGA Taiwan Championship from 2011 to 2013 alongside numerous prestigious international amateur events.
