2024 Taiwan LPGA Tour | Da Da DIGITAL Ladies Open 25 – 27 Sep Tournament Preview
Date:2024-09-24

Chang Ya-Chun (張雅淳) will be trying to defend her title at the Da Da Digital Ladies Open this week as the TLPGA Tour travels to Tong Hwa Golf Club. 97 professional players from six countries, as well as 5 local amateurs, will be competing at the three-round Da Da Digital Ladies Open for a total purse of NT$3 million.

Chang, who won the 2023 edition after a two-hole play-off, will be hoping to relive her winning memory. Ornnicha Konsunthea from Thailand is also high in confidence after clinching last week’s KENDA Tires TLPGA Open. Chang Ching-Ling (張靖翎) and Shih Cheng Hsuan (石澄璇) are both aiming to take a third victory in the 2024 season.

Da Da is a broadband service company in Taiwan initiated by the locally-renowned Da Feng cable company, which hopes to facilitate positive social relationships and connections through sporting events and various charitable endeavors organized by the Da Da Digital Foundation.

“It’s been a fruitful three years. We are honored and happy to see the Da Da Digital event now have become a prominent fixture on the TLPGA Tour calendar,” Da Da Digital honor president Li D-W. said. “Me and President Tai always feel excited to see the talent of these amazing women shining through the challenging Tong Hwa setting. It’s incredible, and we hope more people realize and recognize that we have so many great golf players right here, and that they can lend their support, whether financially or emotionally, to help our women’s golf reach new heights.”

“The weather has not been great. It was a little concerning because we always did everything in our power to present the best event experience we could, while the weather is nothing we can control,” said Li. “However, we were just really happy to see the sun coming out this morning. We hope it is going to remain like this for the next three days.”

First-round action of the 2024 Da Da Digital Ladies Open will begin on Wednesday morning from both first and tenth tees. Hole-in-one prizes and bonus cheques from BESV E-Bike, EAGLE Golf, SAMPO, Departure, Taiwan Fire & Marine Insurance, and Masada Taiwan will be up for grabs for the aces on Hole 3, 6, 13, and 16.

The competition layout is set at 6,328 yards long. Players tested the course for one last time in a charity pro-am event today.

A cut will be made after the second round, and only top-50 and ties will prevail through to Friday’s final round.
