Thailand’s P.K. Kongkraphan notched a two-shot victory on 21-under 192 at the TrustGolf Asian Mixed Series Thailand (Third Leg), after a splendid round of 10-under 61 that included two eagles and six birdies.
40 TLPGA Tour elites, 40 TPGA Tour men, and 52 local golfers who have performed well at the TrustGolf qualifying events returned in Cha-am, Thailand this week for the third and final leg of the TrustGolf Asian Mixed Series Thailand, which is organized by the TrustGolf Tour and jointly co-sanctioned by the TLPGA Tour and TPGA Tour.
Kongkraphan became the first women to claim the title in the mixed series. The win is worth TBH$750,000.
Local men’s player Poom Saksansin also fired a low-round 61 to finish as the runner-up on 19-under 194.
Taiwan’s Phoebe Yao (姚宣榆) finished in solo seventh on 13-under 200, after shooting a final-round 69 on Friday. Wang Li-Ning (王莉甯) and Chen Hsuan (陳萱) made it to 11-under 202 to wrap it up in T11.
“Winning at home always makes it extra special. Also, this is a mixed event, and I feel really proud, with my greatest respect, I come out on top in front of all these amazingly skilled men,” said Kongkraphan, whose victory this week is her third on the 2025 TLPGA Tour.
Kongkraphan overtook the lead after an impressive pair of early eagles on no.2 and no.5, and she never looked back. “One thing I was really happy about myself is that I did not commit a single bogey today. I mean, scoring feels good, but not giving away shots shows just how much discipline and mental strength I put in the game,” Kongkraphan added.
First-round co-leader Phoebe Yao made an only bogey after three-putting on the 12th green, but closed the week on a birdie on the 54th hole, putting her back inside the top-10.
“To compete with the men, I felt I got to really raise my aggression. And that’s what I did. I’m proud of that. I was trying to attack on those par-5s, trying to find the green in two shots with my 3-wood. Though I did not make any birdie from them at all, I felt like I stuck to my gameplan and really went for it. That is a positive experience for me going into the future,” Yao said.
“We are honored to collaborate with the TLPGA Tour and TPGA Tour and their amazing roster of professional players. I believe this three-week series provides such a unique platform for mutual growth, and will stimulates the development of our local talents. I look forward to seeing our relation extends beyond this series,” said TrustGolf founder Prin Singhanart as the 2025 TrustGolf Asian Mixed Series Thailand concluded. |
