Date:2015-08-04

Shih Huei-Ju (石惠如) of Taiwan enjoyed plenty of success at the Technology Cup, winning her second consecutive title twelve months ago and finishing as the runner-up in 2012, when it was the first year the event was held. This year, the TLPGA Future Open presented by High Tech Charity, titled with a new name in connection with the TLPGA Future Challenge Series, will feature 14 of the top 20 on the TLPGA Tour Money List as Shih looks for a three-peat.

Fresh off a win at the Gem Sheen TLPGA Heritage Tour last week, Shih will also be competing for a second victory in back-to-back weeks with players from nine countries, in the fourth edition of the High Tech Charity event wrapping up on Friday at the Tong Hwa Golf & Country Club in Linkou, Taipei. The tournament will be decided over 54-hole stroke-play and the winner will receive a NT$600,000 prize in a total purse of NT$3 million.

Teen Thai sensation, 2014 Party Golfers’ Ladies Open champion Kanphanitnan Muangkhumsakul and her compatriot Wichanee Meechai, who won the 2015 Yeangder TLPGA Open right on this Tong Hwa Golf in January, with be among the top contenders alongside a compact local field including current 2015 TLPGA Tour Money Leader Kuo Ai-Chen (郭艾榛), number 3 Lin Tzu-Chi (林子麒), number 4 Chen Meng-Chu (陳孟竺), number 5 Liang Yi-Ling (梁宜羚) (2015 KENDA Tires Open winner), number 7 Yeh Hsin-Ning (葉欣寧), number 8 Chien Pei-Yun (錢珮芸), and the latest top-10 entrant Chen Yu-Ju (陳宇茹).

The veterans in Huang Bie-Shyun (黃璧洵), Huang Yueh-Chyn (黃玥珡), Cheng Mei-Chi (鄭美琦), Julie Lu (呂曉娟), and Huang Yu-Chen (黃玉珍), who finished at the solo second place at last year’s Meridigen Technology Cup, are also ready to take on the 6,337-yard track set to test the players on and near the greens with vicious traps looming around the broad, up-and-down layout.

A cut will be made after 36 holes and only the players inside the top-50 on the leaderboard and ties will advance to the final round. The tee time for Wednesday’s opening round will be at 7:00 in the morning.
