2016 KENDA Tire TLPGA Open with total prize-money NT 4million, started today for first two rounds total 36 holes at Taiwan GCC. In the first round, Yun-Jye WEI shot 70 to lead with 71 in the second round, total 141 three-under-par. She tied for the first place with Malaysian player Michelle KOH after two rounds.

It was set to start the first round on Sept.28, but postponed to Sept.29 due to typhoon. Two rounds was played in morning and afternoon sessions, with 18 holes shotgun start which is a harsh experience to player’s physical and spiritual conditions.

First round in the morning, Yun-Jye WEI played 5 birdies, 1 bogey, 1 double bogey, with 2-under-par 70 lead in the first place. The first hole did not performed well so that caused the only double bogey, the rest are pretty good. She thought it is a good opportunity for self examine while playing 36 holes in one day. Second round in the afternoon, she shot 4 birdies and 3 bogeys, total 71 1-under-par.

Yun-Jye WEI said jokingly that she spent every effort to finish walking the last 18 holes, in the end her physical condition is better than what she expected, although there’s few short putts did not handled well, overall the performance are pretty good. Hopefully tomorrow for the final round will play better than the first round.

Malaysian player Michelle KOH played even par 72 in the first round, pos as 4th place. Then the second round shot 6 birdies and 3 bogeys, hand in 69 3-under-par. With two rounds 141, Michelle KOH catch up to Yun-Jye WEI and tie in the first place.

Michelle KOH said, today the drivers and irons are well enough, but the short putts weren’t performing well, it’s a pity but she will put more effort tomorrow. This is also her first time playing 36 holes in a role, she sure felt tired in the last two holes.

Ching HUANG played 3 birdies and 2 bogeys in the first round, place 2nd with 71 1-under-par. In the second round, she shot 3 birdies and 2 bogeys also results in 71 1-under-par, total 142 end with 3rd place. She indicated that two rounds has not much difference while playing, everything went well until the last four holes she only could finish walking with her power of will. For the final round tomorrow, she definitely will be nervous but she will do her best to perform best score.

In the first round, there’s Meng-Chu CHEN, Yu-Ju CHEN, Michelle KOH, Senno YASUFUKU tied for the 4th place with 72 strokes. Meng-Chu CHEN shot 3 birdies and 2 bogeys in the second round, two rounds total 143 tied for the 4th place with Wei-Ling HSU. She thought her putting are well but irons are not the best, during 36 holes she felt great pressure mentally and physically as a host player, while she trying to perform well in the first 18 holes, the last 18 holes surprisingly performed better.

Wei-Ling HSU at LPGA shot 73 1-over-par in the first round, end at 8th place. In the second round, she shot 4 birdies and 2 bogeys total 70 2-under-par. She just came back from US last week, could not manage the green speed in the first round, especially the distance of second shots. Fortunately, she adapted well in the second round, irons are performing great. It’s not a challenge for her to play 36 holes in once, moreover she hope to win her first trophy in Taiwan.

For amateur players, Wei-Chia TSAI shot 73 and pos at the 8th place in the first round, she shot 1 birdies and 3 bogeys in the second round, total 147. Tied with Chia-Pei LEE in the 11th place but performed as the first place during two rounds among all the amateur players. She said she’d managed well with chipping, hope to catch more birdies tomorrow.

KENDA Tire TLPGA Open encountered the intrusion of typhoon Megi, which impacted Taiwan GCC with strong wind and heavy rain. New on board Chairman Lin Yu Bao indicated they managed almost every staff, total 200 people to recover the course, he was very touched with everyone’s effort so that the tournament could start as planned in C&D section.

In the first round, Thai player Alisara WEDCHAKAMA shot a hole-in-one at the 8th hole, she received MASI EVOLUZIONE TEAM + Ultegra bicycle provided by Klight Industrial Co. Ltd., valued NT 100,000. And NT 10,000 cash plus NT 30,000 products provided by Taiwan GCC.

After two rounds, the committee decided the cut-off line at 10-over-par total 154, which included 51 professional players and 6 amateur players.

Final round draw will according to two rounds results, first tee-off time will be 07:00am from the 1st tee, 07:03am from the 10th tee. Last tee-off time 08:30am, the game estimated to end at 01:00pm.
