Hsin Chu Golf Country Club will be the backdrop for this week’s Technology Cup presented by the collected effort from local technology industries, boasting a NT$3 million purse and a NT$600,000 winner prize.

The success of this event was an important stride on the TLPGA roadmap in pursue of the recognition of WWGR. According to WWGR guideline, Tour must have a minimum yearly schedule of ten events to gain eligibility in the application of the membership, while this year the TLPGA had shown its ambitions and released the calendar with up to 20 events, including 5 pro-junior tournaments and 13 professional tournaments (5 co-sanctioned with LAGT, 1 co-sanctioned with KLPGT, and the Sunrise LPGA Taiwan Championship sanctioned with GAROC and USLPGA).

Another huge favorite coming from Thailand is Wichanee Meechai. The 23-year-old is in for a hat trick, who is striving for her third victory in a row after coming out on top at last week’s Beijing Challenge on the CLPGA Tour.
