Top Taiwanese players and a gang of TLPGA winners returned to the Chang Gung Golf Club at this week’s Chung Cheng Ladies Open, in quest of an NT$1.2 million winner prize during a 54-hole contest starting from Jul 19.

The stars headlining in this week include 2013 Technology Cup and TLPGA & Wu Fong Heritage Tour winner Shih Huei-Ju (石惠如), TLPGA No.5 Lin Tzu-Chi (林子麒), 2013 TLPGA Heritage Tour winner Chang Hsuan-Ping (張瑄屏), and Liu Yi-Chen (Babe) (劉依貞), who became a first-time TLPGA titlist right on this course five weeks ago at the 2013 Chung Cheng Heritage Tour, finishing with a 2-round score of a 3-over par 147.

Former player Tu Ai-Yu (涂阿玉), who holds record-breaking 69-time JLPGA wins and one LPGA victory, graced the pre-tournament conference in appreciation for the long-term support from Formosa Plastics Group and Chung Cheng Golf Foundation on the TLPGA Tour.

This year’s Chung Cheng Ladies Open has a purse up to NT$6 million. 88 professional players and 14 amateurs from 12 countries will have an expectedly more thrilling battle over the 3-round competition as the Tour has just made its stop at this Chang Gung Golf Club in June at the Chung Cheng Heritage Tour and players are ready to improve upon their fresh experiences.

The 6,355-yard courses for the Open sit across the Central and North areas. Top 50 and ties after two rounds finish will make it to the final round, in which Mercedes-Benz offers a fancy brand-new NEW B180 as the hole-in-one prize on 1st. Eva Air also provides two flight tickets in all three rounds for each ace on the 17th.

According to WWGR guideline, Tour must have a minimum yearly schedule of ten events to gain eligibility in the application of the membership, while this year the TLPGA had shown its ambitions and released the calendar with twenty events, including 13 professional tournaments (5 co-sanctioned with LAGT, 1 co-sanctioned with KLPGT, and the Sunrise LPGA Taiwan Championship sanctioned with GAROC and USLPGA). TLPGA chairwoman Liu Yi-Chen hopes, with the help and the tremendous efforts put up by members and sponsors, the TLPGA Tour can very soon be joining other WWGR member tour as one of the leading brands around the globe.
