Korean veteran A Ram Cho maintained her lead at 6-under 138 heading into the Sunday final round with a 1-under 71 today at the Chung Cheng Ladies Open. Taiwanese amateur Cheng Shih-Chia (程思嘉) shot the low round of the day with a 4-under 68 which included five birdies and one bogey, leaving just one shot to catch up at 139.

Tsai Pei-Ying (蔡佩穎) of Taiwan also shot 68 on Saturday, sitting in a tie for third with Korean Ye Na Chung at 141. Final group for tomorrow Cho, Cheng, and Tsai will all be chasing their first professional win.

Cheng, the 15-year-old amateur, made her first time being in the final group on the last day of a professional tournament. “I’m going to be nervous, I couldn’t take that away,” said Cheng. “But I’ve been on that occasion a few times in amateur competitions so hopefully things will be easier this time.”

“The greens are definitely challenging. Very fast and it’s hard to sit around the pin,” said Cheng. “I can only learn from the experience from the Technology Cup where the greens seemed in similar conditions.”

Cho, who was caught by a few bad drives but managed to stay in lead, made four birdies and three bogeys to finish with 71. “I tried to keep it in control and to not overplay. Tomorrow I’m going to play to my own rhythm, try not to pay too much attention to the others.”

Tsai hit a bogey-free 68, lowest for today, and it will be her debut show in the final group for a title. “It’s probably the best I’ve hit in a long time,” said Tsai. “I felt extremely focused and I felt like I got a clear picture in my mind how I’m going to approach in every shot.

2013 Technology Cup winner and TLPGA no.3 Shih Huei-Ju (石惠如) carded with an even par, sharing her place in a tie for fifth with winner at also this Chang Gung Golf Club five weeks ago at the Chung Cheng Heritage Tour, Liu Yi-Chen (Babe) (劉依貞), at 1-under 143.
