Date:2021-12-24

“I’ve always kept a habit of writing a diary to constantly reflect on myself,” the newly-crowned Taiwan Mobile Ladies Open winner Hsu Wei-Ling (徐薇淩) said. “I love the feeling of handwriting. It’s like talking to your inner self, almost like a therapy”

“If you’re in an agitated state, your writings will certainly show. And it’s a reminder to yourself that you need to find ways to slow down and refresh yourself,” said Hsu, who was recently introduced to writing with a fountain pen. “I thought it was a tough technique to pick up, but it is really not that hard. I’m just getting more and more fun from it the more I do it. I also introduced it to my brother. Sometimes we would look at each other’s writing and see who’s improved better.”

Finishing second on the leaderboard and top amateur this week, high school student Huang Ting-Hsuan (黃亭瑄) has collected the low-amateur honor for the fourth time already this season. She beat the field at the Wistron Ladies Open, Party Golfers Open, WPG Open and now at the Taiwan Mobile Ladies Open. On the prize ceremony, presenter and TLPGA chairwoman Liu Yi-Chen gave Huang an interesting look before passing the trophy, “it’s you again!” Laughter filled the banquet room instantly.

A fun fact and record was made by Chang Tzu-Yi (張子怡), a UCLA Berkeley student, with 100 PCR tests received.

Busily traveling from the NCAA league competitions and the Asian Pacific amateur events in the middle east, despite already having two doses of vaccination, Chang was required a PCR test almost everywhere she went. She believed she had taken more than 100 tests since the inception of the new procedures in this pandemic era.
