The TLPGA Tour will head to a new pitstop this week at the Chianan Golf & Country Club as the inaugural Taya Group Ladies Open tees off on Wednesday.
The NT$6-million TLPGA Tour event features 102 players, who will be vying for the top honor in the 54-hole battle which is worth NT$1,080,000.
Taya is one of the leading energy connection solution providers in Asia, specializing in the energy generation, conversion, transmission, storage, and management fields. The brand is celebrating its 70th year anniversary next year.
The backdrop of this week’s event will be the Chianan Golf & Country Club in the cultural Tainan City. “Tainan is where it all started for Taya 70 years ago. We were doing everything we could to bring the Taya Group Ladies Open to the city, and we appreciate the support from the Chianan Club to make this happen,” said TLPGA chairwoman Liu Yi-Chen. “We hope the Taya Group Open is here to stay and that it brings some fresh air to sport in the Southern area of Taiwan.”
“It is really exciting to see our Tour grew bigger with the addition of these top-tier tournaments, and it motivates us to continue improving daily and deliver a stronger game,” Team Taya Group player Wu Chun-Wei (吳純葳) said.
“I’m grateful to be able to represent Taya in the very first Taya Group Open,” said June Ting (丁子云), another Taya face. “The collaboration and the sponsorship supports have definitely helped me bring it to the next level. I can arrange for a better balance between training and competition without worrying too much to make ends meet.”
Taya Group decided to support the women’s event advocating for gender equality in the sport, anchored by its long-term commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Taya’s Pristine Homeland Foundation has been dedicated to working collaboratively across the energy community to seek improvement in power safety, green energy, and environmental sustainability in the country.
The first-round play of the 2024 Taya Group Ladies Open begins on the coming Wednesday at 7:00 a.m. from the first and tenth tees, with plenty of big names ready for action, including the most recent Tour champion, Party Golfers’ Ladies Open winner Chen Ling-Jie (陳伶潔), Thai Ace P.K. Kongkraphan, who is already a 4-time TLPGA Tour titlist this season, and former LPGA Tour no.1 golfer Yani Tseng (曾雅妮). |
