2013 Taiwan LPGA Tour Chung Cheng Heritage Tour Tournament Preview
Date:2013-11-18

The Chang Gung Golf Club is ready for the return of the Chung Cheng Heritage Tour. Starting from November 19, the two-day event will feature 35 professional TLPGA players grouped with 66 amateurs and juniors for the passing and “heritage” of experiences, as they seek for the final honor with the reward of total prize of NT$600,000.

First round starts at 7 a.m. tomorrow and the winner in Group Professionals will take home NT$110,000.

Besides Group Professionals, Group Amateurs of Men’s/Women’s 16-25, Boys’/Girls’ 12-16, and Juniors’ 8-12 will also be in action. The Chung Cheng Heritage Tour brings curtains down on the 2013 Heritage Tour, serving up the chance for younger talents to play along with the pros and learn in the five pro-junior events.

Pre-tournament favorites include Chien Pei-Yun (錢珮芸), who finished last week at  fifth at the Takangshan Golf Course at the NT$2.5 million TLPGA South Taiwan Open, Shih Huei Ju (石惠如), a two-time title holder in 2013 at the Technology Cup (科技盃公開賽) and the TLPGA & Wu Fong Heritage Tour (霧峰傳承賽), and TLPGA & Tsai Hsing Heritage Tour (再興傳承賽) champion Cheng Yi-Yu (鄭宜宥).

Coming in also in hot form is Chen Yu-Ju (陳宇茹), who fired a low round of the tournament 5-under 67 to wrap up at solo second in the TLPGA South Taiwan Open. The runner-up finish also recorded her career best. Chen will be competing in Group Amateurs of Women’s 16-25.

This tournament is the third event presented by Chung Cheng Golf Foundation after the Chung Cheng Heritage Tour in June and the grand Chung Cheng Ladies Open in July.

According to the WWGR guideline, tour must have a minimum yearly schedule of ten events to be eligible in the application of the membership, while this year the TLPGA had shown its ambitions and released the calendar with 20 events, including 13 professional tournaments (5 co-sanctioned with LAGT, 1 co-sanctioned with KLPGT, and the Sunrise LPGA Taiwan Championship co-sanctioned with GAROC and USLPGA) to soon be recognized as an official member tour.
